Sunday, March 29, Worship Services at 8:30 am and 10:30 am 

Palm Sunday Procession at 10:30 am Service

This Palm Sunday, we’re bringing the story of Jerusalem to life! We are recreating the high-energy, joyful welcome Jesus received, and we want every child to be part of the processional. Meet at 10:20 am on the church steps to receive palms to wave high as we process through the sanctuary. 

Nursery opens at 8:15 am. Children K and under have the option to attend Grow in Grace (will be dismissed mid-way through service).

Palm Sunday Lunch

Join us as we begin Holy Week with a fellowship lunch in Kissling Hall! Please RSVP for this cherished (and delicious) lunch! Suggested Donation for lunch: $10/adult, $5/child, $30 family maximum. RSVP so we can plan for food. 

Easter Egg Hunt

After the Palm Sunday lunch, children (5th grade and under) are invited to participate in age-appropriate Easter Egg hunts on Rice Sports Zone. Please bring a basket if you have one, though some will be available to borrow. Join us for the fun!

Maundy Thursday Service

Thursday, April 2, 7:00 pm 

Join us as we remember the last night of Christ’s life, as we begin the journey to the cross. The word “Maundy” is derived from the Latin word “commandment,” and recalls the “new commandment” Christ gave his disciples the night before he died: love one another as I have loved you. Communion will be served. Service also available via live stream, www.rpcjax.org/live.

Nursery is available for K and under and will open 15 minutes prior to the service.

Good Friday Service

Friday, April 3, 7:00 pm

Join us as we recount Christ’s passion and death, and remember all that God in Christ has done for us. This is a contemplative service of scripture and song. Service also available via live stream www.rpcjax.org/live. Nursery is available for K and under and will open 15 minutes prior to the service.

Easter Day

Sunday, April 5, Worship Services at 8:30 and 10:30 am 

Join us for worship at 8:30 or 10:30 to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord! Both services will contain our full choir and liturgy, and the 8:30 service will be held in the main sanctuary rather than the chapel area. Communion will be served at both services. 

Nursery (0-4) opens at 8:15 am. 

Children in K and under have the option to attend Grow in Grace (will be dismissed mid-way through service). 

The Easter Flower Cross will be in the courtyard on Park Street.  Everyone is encouraged to bring flowers to place on the cross, but flowers are provided if you are not able to bring them.

The Butterfly Release (butterflies brought to RPC by our children and youth) will be at 9:45 am. Children and youth bring their caterpillars that have recently changed to butterflies to church for a release. We will meet at the cookies and lemonade table at 9:45 am and then walk over to the park for the release. Children, youth and families will have a chance to share their experience watching the caterpillars metamorph into butterflies and how that relates to the season of Lent and Easter. There will be a short liturgy during the time together. 

There will be extra butterflies at this event for those who were not able to participate in this process from the beginning. Everyone is welcome to participate!
