Meals on Wheels, one of Riverside’s longest running ministries, has been part of our outreach since the 1970s. In fact, we have so lovingly cared for homebound, food insecure seniors that our designated MOW fund is almost exhausted. We need your help to continue this vital ministry. Because, without RPC MOW, our clients will not receive a daily, prepared meal or weekend meal items.
The majority of MOW recipients are unable to pay the $4 per day meal cost.
Update as of 5/5/21:
Thanks to you, we have raised $19,140!
Because of an anonymous donor matching every gift, that is $38,280 which is 11,484 meals we will be able to provide!
- Nearly 30 homebound seniors in the Riverside/Avondale and Ortega neighborhoods depend on us for food, human interaction and wellness checks.
- The 150 meals that are delivered each week are prepared by Clara White culinary students who are learning job skills that will help them transition out of homelessness.
- 39 volunteers from RPC, Murray Hill Presbyterian and St. Mark’s Episcopal share the daily delivery assignments for the eight routes that cover Avondale/Riverside and Ortega.
